- Type: Perennial
- Height: 2'
- Shasta Daisy is a favorite for cut flowers due to its strong 2' stems.
Alaska has the largest flowers of the white, daisy-flowered mums. The
easy-to-grow plants are trouble-free bloomers from mid to late summer.
Select a well-drained site to avoid winterkill. Even then, harsh winters
may limit the plants life to 2-3 seasons; although, Alaska is a hardier
variety. Seed may be sown in spring and in late summer, either way
flowers will bloom the following season. Mix seed with a cup of sand and
broadcast onto prepared garden bed, lightly rake, and press seed into soil.
Plants flower from February sowing in July/August.
