- Foxglove's easy-to-grow plants bear several stately flower spikes atop
leafy stems to add an outstanding vertical effect in mixed flower borders.
The speckle-throated flowers come in an array of soft colors.
Sow indoors in early spring and transplant 8-10 weeks later to a location in
full sun or light shade with moist, well-drained soil. Where winters are
mild sow outdoors in late summer for large blooms the following spring.
Fertilize as plants begin growth the second year. Remove spikes after
flowering to encourage second blooming.
