- Columbine, McKana's Mix is an easy to grow perennial and a good choice for
a hummingbird garden. As a perennial, it will establish itself the first
year and begin blooming the second. McKana's Mix is a large flowered
cultivar of the popular species producing graceful spurred flowers in a
variety of colors.
For strong plants with lots of blooms, either start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks
before last frost, or sow outdoors in late summer/early fall and provide
winter protection where necessary. Does best in cool weather and with
some afternoon shade. Provide rich, moist, well-drained soil.
